DESCRIPTION

The Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome is the ambitious and sophisticated architectural work designed by Renzo Piano. This City for Music, situated in the centre of Rome, is the biggest multi-functional arts complex in Europe and 'home' to the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

The Opening Ceremony will be opened with a keynote by Michael Green, renowned global economist and pioneer in measuring social progress; expert on quantifying and implementing socially responsible business practices and investments; CEO, Social Progress Imperative; and former senior official in the UK Government's Department for International Development.

The Opening Ceremony will be followed by a walking dinner in the exceptional Foyer of the Parco della Musica where you will experience sustainability also through a fine local, seasonable and organic cuisine while networking on this most attended evening. We will then close this amazing evening with great music and dancing in a true AIJA afterparty spirit!

The world is at a crossroads. The SDGs point the way to a sustainable and inclusive future for people and planet. What do we have to do to choose this path? Michael Green (CEO, Social Progress Imperative) will take stock of what we need to do to deliver on the promise of the SDGs and what this means for the legal profession.

About Michael Green
Michael Green is Chief Executive Officer of the Social Progress Imperative. An economist by training, he is co-author with Matthew Bishop of ‘The Economist’ of “Philanthrocapitalism: How Giving Can Save the World and The Road from Ruin: A New Capitalism for a Big Society.” Previously, Michael served as a senior official in the U.K. Government’s Department for International Development, where he managed British aid programs to Russia and Ukraine and headed the communications department.

He taught Economics at Warsaw University in Poland in the early 1990s. His TED Talks have been viewed more than two million times, and his 2014 Talk was chosen by the TED organisation as one of the ‘most powerful ideas’ of 2014 and by The Telegraph as one of the 10 best ever. In 2016, he was named one of 'The 100 Most Connected Men in Britain' by GQ Magazine and one of the NonProfit Times’s 'Power & Influence Top 50'.
